You don't necessarily have to pay more for insurance cover if you're a pilot!
If you meet the following conditions, Liberty Life will grant you full aviation cover without loadings or exclustions:

If you are a Private Fixed Wing Pilot you will receive full cover if you:
- Have a valid private pilot’s license for fixed wing aircraft;
- Have flown within the last 12 months;
- Fly within the parameters of your license
- Fly within the bordes of the RSA and SADC countries (excluding Angola and DRC)
- Have more than 75 hours flying experience and fly between 25 and 500 hours per annum;
- Have an accident-free history; and
- Have no adverse medical conditions
If you are A Commercial Fixed Wing Pilot you will receive full cover (including Loss of Pilots Licence in certain categories) if you:
- Have a valid commercial pilot’s license for fixed wing aircraft;
- Are employed by a resisted commercial airline
- Fly on main air routes using registered airfield, for the sole purpose of transporting fare paying passengers or cargo
- Fly within the parameters of your license
- Have an accident-free history; and
- Have no adverse medical conditions

The following activities are excluded form full cover:
- Aerobatic, exhibition and stunt-flying
- Game-spotting and fire control
- Agricultural spraying, seeding and dusting
- Any activities as a test pilot
Please note the following:
- Loadings and /or exclusions will be considered and applied based on the actual details supplied on the aviation questionnaire
- No restriction will be allowed on the amount of cover subject to normal benefit maximums, medical and financial underwriting and the completion of an Aviation Questionnaire in all instances
- A loss of license exclusion clause applies to commercial pilots on disability benefits
- Individual consideration will be given to pilots who do not meet these conditions or those involved in any other form of aviation, for example helicopter flying, micro-lighting and military aviation
TopIndividual consideration will be given to pilots:
- who do not meet these conditions or those involved in any other form of aviation, for example Helicopter flying, mico-lighting, gyrocopter flying and military aviation.
- High risk fixed wing and helicopter pilots e.g. ships to shore, power line cleaners, fire fighting, crop dusting, game spotting (fixed wing only), car tracker pilots.
- Participation in aerobatics, exihibitions, stunts, demonstrations, test flying or more than one air reace per annum.
